cut copy / circa, toronto / 27/03/09



Last Friday, I went to see Cut Copy at Circa and it was the worst concert experience of my life. Cut Copy put on a great show, but no one I know enjoyed themselves. The promoters are cash cows and sold way too many tickets making the concert experience intolerable for everyone. We were shouted at like cattle going off to slaughter just to check our jackets, and once on the dance floor you couldn't squeeze through the crowd without getting name called or elbowed. Fights broke out on the dance floor during the concert due to space issues. I actually thought that if I had fallen, I would have gotten trampled to death. There wasn't any room to breath or exist. If I had known this prior, there's no way I would have attempted going. I would have sacrificed attending for another persons good time. In July, I'm going to see Depeche Mode, another large concert experience, but at least I will have my own chair with a designated space. Circa, you should be ashamed.
